Limitations to Realize Quantum Zeno Effect in Beam Splitter Array — a Monte Carlo Wavefunction Analysis

نویسندگان

چکیده

Effects of non-ideal optical components in realizing quantum Zeno effect an all-optical setup are analyzed. Beam splitters the important this experimental configuration. Non-uniform transmission coefficient, photon absorption and thermal noise considered. Numerical simulation experiment is performed using Monte Carlo wavefunction method. It argued that there optimal number beam to be used for maximizing expected output experiment.

Monte Carlo study on beam hardening effect of physical wedges

Background: Physical wedges are still widely used as beam modifiers in external beam radiotherapy. However the presence of them in the beam trace may cause beam hardening which may not be considered in many treatment planning systems. The aim of this study is to investigate the beam hardening effect generated by physical wedges via different beam quality indexes as photon spectrum, half value l...

Optimal quantum cloning on a beam splitter.

We demonstrate how a beam splitter in combination with different light sources can be used as an optimal universal 1-->2 quantum cloner and as an optimal universal quantum NOT machine for the polarization qubit of a single photon. For the cloning a source of single photons with maximally mixed polarization is required and for the NOT operation a source of maximally entangled photon pairs. We de...

Quantum Monte Carlo Simulations: Algorithms, Limitations and Applications

A survey is given of Quantum Monte Carlo methods currently used to simulate quantum lattice models. The formalisms employed to construct the simulation algorithms are sketched. The origin of fundamental (minus sign) problems which limit the applicability of the Quantum Monte Carlo approach is shown to be a generic feature of the formalisms used to devise the simulation algorithms. A brief overv...

To the Quantum Limitations in Beam Physics

number of states equals to the number of the particles in the beam. This definition basically corresponds to assumption that the beam has zero temperature. We will simply calculate the number of allowed states. The second approach, indeed, uses the definition of the beam temperature in a moving system of reference. We compare the emittance restrictions obtained with these two approaches. Ultrar...

Quantum Anti–Zeno Effect

The interplay between quantum dynamics and quantum measuments continues to attract attention of physicists since the birth of quantum physics [1]. One of the classic examples of such an interplay is the, so called, quantum Zeno effect [2]. It consists in modifying the quantum evolution by the repeated measurments. The essence of the quantum Zeno effect is that repeated interrogation if the syst...
